Melba
We present just a small batch of Little Melba Ghosts in this website release. The sunset colours are sometimes defined in marbled veins and sometimes muddled together in soft swirls.
These Ghosts became known in the workshop as “Melbas” as they reminded Mr Gates of a Peach Melba dessert.
Peach Melba was created at the Savoy Hotel by renowned chef Albert Escoffier in 1892 in honour of the operatic soprano Dame Nellie Melba. The dish consists of "tender and very ripe peaches, vanilla ice cream, and a purée of sugared raspberry".
