Onding

The word onding is of Gaelic Scots derivation and was used to describe a heavy and continuous period of rain or snow. As these little Ghosts were being made the temperature was hovering just above freezing and a heavy sleet was flitting against the workshop window, later that evening it began to settle, by morning all was white. Today, just as it was 150 years ago when Charlotte Bronte wrote the words it is a very grey day with a most opaque sky, for now we must endure these conditions with certainty that sunshine and warmth will return.
