Low Jubbergate Huckster

Huckster was a name given to showy street peddler who would often used persuasive means to effect a sale. All Hucksters Ghosts are prefixed by a local street name which appears on the 1852 map of York which wraps each Ghost.

There is a small street in York which today connects Newgate Market and the Shambles with Parliament Street. This lane is called Jubbergate or High Jubbergate, to the south of Parliament Square Jubbergate continues as Low Jubbergate where it meets Spurriergate ( the street of the spur maker ). We created a small batch of Jubbergate Hucksters earlier this month, six sold as clandestine releases from the website and a few found their way to the shelves of the shop. Jubbergate Hucksters were seven coloured, these Low Jubbergate Hucksters are very similar but are five coloured, missing the pink and purple colours present in the Jubbergate Huckster.

Huckster Ghosts are characterised by the dynamic and varied markings of slashes and spray, the markings and colouring vary from Ghost to Ghost.
