Firebrick Sweep
“Sweep” ghosts are so-named as we use a brush in the making process which resembles the brush of a chimney sweep - although, of course, miniature by comparison. The markings this rough bristled brush leave are fine and painterly.
Chimney sweeping was one of the more difficult, hazardous, and low-paying occupations of the Georgian and Victorian eras, and consequently has been derided in verse, ballad and pantomime.
These sweep ghosts combine a rich and vibrant orange-red “firebrick” base with a black sweep.
